BRIDGING THE EDUCATION GAP

Prime unique Academy is an English Christian school, running the South African curriculum implemented by department of education. The school majors in individual attention to learners, hence maintains small classes of about fifteen learners per class.

• Every human being has a right to education.
• Nobody is too old or too young to learn.
• A balanced human being needs to be empowered; mentally, physically, spiritually and socially.
• Everyone has different learning abilities, techniques and pace and hence should be taught individually using varied methods that suit the individual learner.
• The gifted learner should not be held back in the same grade or programme by age, chronological year or the set period for completing any grade or program.
• The average learner can cope with the mainstream teaching because they fall in the majority catergory.
• In the same way the challenged learner should not be dragged along, at a rate faster than he or she can cope but should be allowed the liberty to learn at their own pace.
• In any case, the educator should facilitate learning in every individual leaner, in a way that would allow the learner to unleash their greatest potential.
• Learning should be student centered and not teacher centered.
• The educator remains a mere facilitator of the learning process, while active learning takes place in the student.
• Every learner is gifted in their own unique way and therefore the educator’s task is to help in identifying the gift, nurturing and encouraging growth in the specific area that the learner is gifted.
• Train up a child in the way they should go and when he or she grows up he or she will not depart from it.
